I selected DSPBR Tax Saver Fund for tax saving this year. The process I followed to select this fund was to choose from all the 5 star rated funds by ValueResearchOnline and go with the fund that has midcap as benchmark Index.

    Screen Shot 2016-10-01 at 6.15.55 PM.png
    • Axis Long Term Equity Fund has benchmark BSE 200
    • Birla Sun Life Tax Plan has benchmark BSE Sensex
    • Birla Sun Life Tax Relief 96 has benchmark BSE 200
    • IDBI Equity Advantage Fund has benchmark BSE 200
    • Tata India Tax Savings Fund has benchmark BSE Sensex
Whereas DSPBR Tax Saving has benchmark Nifty 500 which according to me will outperform BSE 100 / BSE 200 and Sensex going forward.

I have invested 30k as of now and have plans to continue at the current rate for the next 5 months.

I am still waiting for the confirmation of order being executed and once done will upload the transaction details for reference.

Just FYI that I have selected the Dividend Option

Thanks for the information Shabbir. Want to know if the investment made under these type of funds is calculated under 80C or some other section for tax saving.

One thing I would like to appreciate is you give very transparent information with proof and investors like us who are in the beginning phase use that for starting point of the analysis which turns very good knowledge and beneficial for us. Once again thanks a lot.

    Hello,

Thanks for the same, I was comparing between Regular and Direct Plan (Dividend Option). I see that dividends are regularly declared in "Regular Plan" but not in "Direct Plan". Is there any specific reason.

    DSP BlackRock Tax Saver Fund

Direct Plan Dividend: --> NAV Rs 28.363
Regular Plan Dividend: --> NAV Rs 16.555

    Regards,
    RJ

Very strange thing which I also did not take a note of and have no idea why it is behaving like that.

I tried searching on Net to find out reason why? Mainly because of rule change by SEBI i.e. dividends can only be paid from realised gains..

Sharing the Article for everyone's reference..
